Speaking at the Nigerian-British Golf Tournament 2024 which took place at the Ikeja Golf Club, President of NBCC, Mr Ray Atelly, said that the organisation remained committed to the opportunities of the sporting competition.
He advised interested parties in the game of of golf to look for mentors for them to catch up and understand the importance of the sports.
“As a chamber we are determined to provide sporting opportunities for business leaders to engage in sports.”
The tournament was sponsored by Greenwich Merchant Bank, among other sponsors and had in attendance 19 clubs comprising of four players each.
However, in the corporate winners category, Yoke Solutions emerged winner with 116 points; while ADL Solutions emerged second with 109 points; Dormai Sign Ltd. with 105 points; among other corporate winners category.
Also, Gbenga Ayodele with 11 Handicap won the male category with 35 points.
The winner of the Nearest to the Pin Male; Alhaji Abubakar; followed by Longest drive-male, Jide Oseni, and Lady Lindsay Obieze, the Longest drive female.
In her remark, Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, MCCTI, Mrs Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, said such sports event shows the commitment and collaboration between both countries.
She commended the trade facilitation between both countries saying that: “The Chamber’s impressive membership of over 400 diverse enterprise highlights the depth and breadth of the Nigerian-British alliance.
