Chief Internal Auditor

Rasaq Alawode is an experienced Audit, Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. He obtained his first degree in Accounting at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He has over 15 years banking experience spanning Internal Audit, Internal control, Compliance and Fraud Investigation.

Before joining Greenwich Merchant Bank, he was a Senior Manager in the Internal Audit Department at Rand Merchant Bank, Nigeria. He has also worked in other international financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank, with primary responsibilities of providing assurance to the businesses using risk-based internal audit methodology.

Rasaq is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with an IIA certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Chartered institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN)
