Rasaq Alawode is an experienced Audit, Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. He obtained his first degree in Accounting at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He has over 13 years’ financial services experience which cuts across banking, pension administration and asset management businesses.
Before joining Greenwich Merchant Bank, he was a Senior Manager in the Internal Audit Department at Rand Merchant Bank, Nigeria. He has also worked in other international financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank, with primary responsibilities of providing assurance to the businesses using risk-based internal audit methodology on internal control systems in the various business functions/areas and jurisdictions.
Rasaq is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with an IIA certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI-UK), Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) and the Chartered institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
