Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited -A New Era (September 2020)

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Central Bank of Nigeria (“CBN”) on September 29th 2020 conveyed its approval for the licensing of Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Management of the Bank, I wish to express our thankfulness to the CBN for its diligence and positive engagement throughout this process. We also thank the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) for its support and understanding. We are grateful to our numerous clients, our investors and dedicated work force for the unflinching support and commitment towards the attainment of this objective.

This license allows Greenwich Trust Limited (now Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited) to upscale its existing bouquet of products and offer diverse services in Corporate Banking, Private Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury & Global Markets, Securities Dealing, etc, to its current and prospective clients. The bank will build on the operations and brand equity of Greenwich Trust Limited acquired over the last 26 years of our existence as a leader in the Nigerian Capital Market. Greenwich Merchant Bank will be managed by a fine breed of experienced and innovative professionals guided by our tradition of excellence and in consonance with our core values of Integrity, Efficiency, Innovation and Relationship.

As we commence this journey, I wish to solicit the support of all our domestic and international stakeholders in ensuring that we attain the vision of building a global institution that will represent the best of the Nigerian financial services sector.
